(Step 4 of "7 Steps to Creating A Kick-Butt Outrageous Deal")

Does this sound familiar?

Telemarketer: "Hello, Mr. Business Owner. We have a special on radio advertising this month – buy one 30-second slot, get a second one free. Can I sign you up?"

You: "Sounds like a great deal! I'll take four minutes.

Several months go by, you ran your radio advertising, but can't tell if it was the radio spot you ran, or the email blast you sent out that had an effect on your business results.

As you create your Outrageous Deal, make sure you know how you're going to measure its success beforehand.

You could measure:

  • How many people buy your Outrageous Deal by tracking this number via your Business Profile page here on Shop, Stay, & Play
  • Any increase to your Three Magic Numbers: Your gross profit per sale, the number of purchases a customer makes in a month, the length of time a customer remains with you.
  • Any increase in the number of customers you get per month
  • Any increase in hits (or  "conversions" – people who take a desired course of action) to your website

Action Step

  • What number/s are you going to use to track the success of the "best" deal you decided on in Step 3?
